The Inter-Anglican Theological and Doctrinal Commission met between Monday, 10 September and Sunday, 16 September in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Commission is grateful for the warmth of the welcome it received from Bishop Ng Moon Hing, Bishop of the Diocese of West Malaysia, and the efficient help given by the clergy and staff of the Diocese who were responsible for much of the local organisation in preparation for the Commission’s meeting.

As part of its commitment to helping to strengthen Anglican theological education on a regional basis, TEAC, the Primates Working Party on Theological Education, is pleased to announce that three part-time Regional Associates have been appointed to work with and alongside TEAC's Secretary, Clare Amos.

Members of the TEAC (Theological Education for the Anglican Communion) Working Group held a consultation in Singapore 10-16 May 2007, to explore 'The Anglican Way in theological education'. Participants in the consultation included members of TEAC's Steering Group and Anglican Way Target Group, as well as a number of other people who brought particular expertise and helpful cross-links to the process.'The meeting was honoured with the presence and contributions of Archbishop Rowan Williams for two days of its discussions.

The Inter-Anglican Theological and Doctrinal Commission met between Monday, September 4th September and Sunday, 10th September at St Julian's Retreat Centre, Limuru...The work of the Commission concentrated on three areas: continuation of the work of the Communion Study on which the Commission has been working since its formation in 2001, reflection on the proposal for an Anglican Covenant, and preparation for the 2008 Lambeth Conference

As the result of the generosity of a number of members of the Compass Rose Society, TEAC (the Anglican Communion Theological Education Working Party) is supplying theological colleges in Asia and Africa with key books in the field of Anglican Studies. The purpose of these book grants is to enable students training for Anglican ministry in theological colleges with limited library resources to have greater access to books which will provide an overview of Anglican history, liturgy and spirituality

The Inter-Anglican Theological and Doctrinal Commission (IATDC) has initiated a new round of consultation across the Anglican Communion on the relationship between the Anglican churches in preparation for its next meeting in Limuru, Kenya, in September 2006.

Kempton Park, South Africa. - The working group Theological Education for the Anglican Communion (TEAC) took time out of its meeting in South Africa this week to visit local church-based HIV/AIDS projects, and to see some of the realities that theological education must address.

Approximately 35 members of the Anglican Communion Working Group on Theological Education (TEAC) are currently gathering for a major meeting at Kempton Park Conference Centre near Johannesburg, South Africa. The meeting will last from 14 - 21 January 2006

At the meeting of the TEAC Steering Group and Convenors, held at Ripon College, Cuddesdon, in July 2005, the following statement about Principles for Theological Education was agreed

Further resources linked to theological education have recently been added to the web site administered by TEAC (Theological Education for the Anglican Communion) - the Anglican Primates Theological Education Working Group.

A booklist of key texts on Anglicanism, which has been put together by members of TEAC, is now available on the TEAC web site. The compilation of the booklist was coordinated on behalf of TEAC by Dr John Corrie, currently Development Officer of the Centre for Anglican Communion Studies in Birmingham, England.

In the face of world poverty, terrorism, disease, warfare and so much else to attract attention and concern, why should theological education be a priority? How can it help us change the world? "I don't think reflection is ever a luxury or an optional extra - it's part of being human, of being a Christian human being and what distinctive perspective Christianity brings to the human condition."

A working group set up by the Primates of the Anglican Communion has recently sent out a questionnaire to all primates, provincial secretaries, Anglican theological institutions, and other interested parties, in order to compile information on the current provision of theological education within the Anglican Communion.
