Ministries - Mission

The 1998 Lambeth Conference report talks of mission as "God's way of loving and saving the world", and the 2008 Lambeth Conference Indaba speaks of "The Church as an instrument for mission" and a participant in "the movement of God's love toward people [and the rest of creation], since God is a fountain of sending love."

Global Anglican Relief and Development Alliance

For the past year, since the conclusion of the 2008 Lambeth Conference, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion Office have worked together to take forward the recommendation for the establishment of a new way for Anglicans to work together globally for relief and development.

The Core of Group of Anglican Witness: evangelism and church growth initiative in the Anglican Communion, representing nine regions of the Anglican Communion and five specialised ministries

Helen Biggin, the Anglican Consultative Council member from Wales, told the ACC that her mission encounter had been "an indescribable gift". Other members also shared their visits to the generous people of New Zealand.

The Evangelism and Church Growth Initiative Core Group was invited and welcomed to St Julian’s retreat centre, Limuru, by the Most Rev Dr Eliud Wabukala, Primate of the Anglican Church of Kenya. 

Congregations increased by nearly a quarter at more than 4,200 churches on Back to Church Sunday on 25th September 2011 – an average of 19 extra people per church.
