Welcome
to the official website of the world-wide Anglican Communion, comprising over 80 million members in 44 regional and national member churches around the globe in over 160 countries.
We hope that you will visit our website often, not only for the latest news and information from our Anglican/Episcopal family of churches, but also to become familiar with the ministry, mission and work of the Instruments of Communion, served by the Anglican Communion Office in London.
Who We Are
The vitality of the Communion is experienced in the life and mission of the different Churches of the Communion. You can find information about their work under the "Resources" heading below as well as links to their own websites. The ministry of Anglican Communion at international level can be approached through the ongoing programmes of the various official commissions and networks and the work of the "Instruments of Communion" listed here. In these pages you will find the various resources we share in the Communion and links to the staff members responsible for the different tasks and ministries.
The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion have announced the membership of an important new commission, following extensive consultation with the Provinces of the Communion around the world. The Chair is the Most Revd Bernard Ntahoturi, Primate of the Anglican Church of Burundi.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has issued a statement in support of today’s ‘Sudan Day of Action’ which calls for a renewed commitment to sustainable peace in Sudan. The Sudan Day of Action, organised by Baroness Cox and the Sudan Action Group, aims to raise awareness for the desperate plight of the people of Sudan.
